How did you get into wedding photography?
.
I have always had a passion for fashion. I love how powerful differences in style, colour, make up and clothing can be created on set, and how different genres can be covered and recorded. I love capturing the expressions and emotions on a person’s face, and in their body language.

My camera has always been my constant companion since about the age of four, so after graduating from five years of photography study, I shot a few of my friends weddings and I loved it so much that I couldn’t stop.

Why wedding photography specifically?
.
I love photographing fashion, joy, elegance, humanity and emotions in their purest form, so I figured the best way to capture all of these elements in a single shoot would be to photograph weddings. To be part of such a magical day, to see all the details and decor chosen by the couple, capturing those split second moments on camera, it is amazing. Of course, there is always the opportunity to pass on my dance moves to future generations.

What is your favourite thing about being a wedding photographer?
.
Being privy to the whole day unfold, witnessing that magical vibe that all the bridal party and guests bring. The emotions of the bride preparing for the most important day of her life, the groom’s face when he sees his bride walk down the aisle, and mingling with the guests, capturing everyone’s story. I love to show a person’s personality through the click of the shutter, whether that be during the speeches, or when some fantastic dance moves are being made.

How do you get couples to relax on the day?
.
I treat my couples as I would a friend, and build a relationship with them before the big day so they feel more at ease.

I have such a passion for what I do and I get really excited at every wedding, so I feel my positive and fun personality helps contribute to making them feel really relaxed. I also like to blend in with the wedding party so everyone is comfortable and happy to have their picture taken, rather than being The Wedding Photographer.

Any advice to any brides who don’t like to have their picture taken?
.
I think it’s fair to say there are a lot of brides that say they don’t like having their picture taken. However my natural style of photography helps take pressure away from the bride as she is un aware that I am taking images of her. Also on the big day the bride feels so fantastic and beautiful and ‘can’t get enough’ of the camera, feeling like a model.

What sort of makeup should a bride wear to look great in her pictures?
.
Personally, I would say natural make up, but also feeling comfortable is very important. Having a trial with a makeup artist first can put a lot of brides at ease and take away the pressure of doing it on the day. Having said that, some brides like to do their own makeup, everyone is different the main thing is to feel great and this will reflect in the images.

Anything to avoid which might look bad in the wedding pictures?
.
Try to avoid waxing a few days before the wedding you don’t want to be rocking up to the wedding with a red mouth or eyebrows and try not to go too dark with the fake tan.

Which celebrity wedding would you most like to photograph and why?
.
I would love to Photograph Zooey Deschanel. She has such natural beauty, and is so cool and creative, so the wedding decor would be interesting and we both have a love for music so It would be brilliant to get involved.

I love her films, especially 500 days of Summer and her TV show, New Girl.

She is my girl crush but don’t tell anyone.

Any really memorable weddings that you have captured?
.
Every wedding is different and unique in its own way. I have really loved photographing them all. A memory from a resent wedding in Australia was when the bride and groom entered the room with their bridal party and they all had to do a tequila shot! Grandma getting involved was brilliant as well; she was throwing some brilliant moves on the dance floor until the early hours. One of the last one’s standing, big thumbs up to Grandma!

Any funny stories to share?
.
I attended a wedding in the South of France on a scorcher of a day. The cake was 4ft high made up of shoe pastry, cream and chocolate. During the speeches all of a sudden the cake started to melt and went over like the leaning tower of Pisa. Several guests rushed over to try and safe it but it collapsed resulting in lots of hands smothered in chocolate and cream. The whole room just burst out laughing and the bride and groom took it really well saying "enjoy the cake, but be quick" and, that it would definitely be a memorable moment from their day.

What sets you apart from other wedding photographers?
.
I arrive at a wedding with the intention of creating images that I feel will tell the story of the day in a natural way, and which shows the couple’s personality. My style of photography is ‘no set poses or faked scenarios’. On the day I go with the flow, shooting with inspiration that the happy couple give me.

What can a couple who book you expect on the day?
.
A professional, bespoke service, with an enthusiastic and excited photographer, who will create an album of images that will give the happy couple lasting memories of their magical day.

What is included in your "package"?
.
Packages vary depending on the requirements of the couple. I can be there for full coverage from getting ready right through until last orders. I will cater for whatever the couple’s needs are, home or abroad too! I offer a digital only package or a digital with album. The best option would be to contact me as I can create packages specific to a couple’s needs. Prices are bespoke depending on the requirements of the bride and groom.
