WEDDING GIVEAWAY

Wedding Blog Giveaway! The Wedding Diaries

Julia Smith

.

When Harper Collins contacted me asking to run a giveaway of their brand new novel, The Wedding Diaries, on the blog I was a little sceptical.  More wedding planning fiction? How good could this be?

.

.

The Wedding Diaries

Yes, I own a copy of Blogging For Dummies too, I’m not sure I’d recommend THAT

.

So, when they sent me a copy in the post, I didn’t get overly excited.  In fact, I tossed it to one side and got back to dealing with my inbox.  But that night, whilst my hubby insisted on watching wrestling re-runs (don’t get me wrong, I loved almost every other Olympic event, just not the wrestling, okay?), I decided to give it a whirl.

.

And this was pretty good stuff.  It’s light, fun, chick fiction, yes, but the characters are engaging, the approach fresh and the reading easy.  I finished it in two days, and that’s because I was enjoying it.  If you need an escape from your own wedding planning and perhaps a little reminder of what’s actually important – this might just be the summer read for you.

.

To whet your appetite, here’s what the lovely Harper Collins – I’m keeping them sweet in case they fancy offering me a book deal *waves to Harper Collins!* – have to say:

.

.

The Wedding DiariesThom: Kiki, will you marry me?
Me: Is that a joke?

.
Kiki Carlow is shocked but delighted when boyfriend Thom proposes. Planning a wedding is easy, right? As she sets to work planning THE wedding of the year she soon discovers…

.
1. The perfect wedding dress does exist although it will make you bankrupt.
2. The Mother of the Bride will be up in your grill with her suggestions e.g. chicken really is the safest option.
3. The Father of the Bride doesn’t care. As long as you don’t make him decide anything, he just wants you to be happy (and a cheap wedding).
4. Your fiancée will remain a gorgeous, sane human being throughout the whole ordeal.

.
As Kiki begins to lose her mind over the big day, can she stop being a Bridezilla in time to marry the man she loves?

..

.

The Wedding Diaries is published 23rd August, £6.99 paperback original & ebook and will make you want to watch Bridesmaids all over again.   And I have 10 free preview copies to giveaway before the book hits the shelves! If you want one, just leave a comment on this blog post, it’s that simple. The first ten people to comment get a copy each. Sorted. GO!

.
Sam Binnie was the 2005 winner of the Harper’s/Orange Prize Short Story Competition, and lives in London with her husband and two children. She is still embarrassed that she forced people to camp at her wedding (which I love!). The Wedding Diaries is her first book.

.

Seriously, give it a go.  This is alright stuff.  I now declare this giveaway open.
