As they say in the movies, that’s a wrap!
.
I am so happy to close a thoroughly successful Brides Up North Wedding Exhibition Autumn season (five huge shows no less!) packed with record attendances, stunning venues, the very best exhibitors and so many lovely, lovely brides and grooms. As I commented on Twitter last night on the way home from our amazing closing show at Rise Hall – it’s been absolutely epic!
.
Thank you so, so much for all your support. If you missed our Autumn shows (or would like to visit us for even more wedding inspiration next time) then watch out for a full calendar of 2013 events coming up soon – with some exciting changes to the schedule and some brand new venues in the mix too! I can’t wait!
.
In the meantime, interested exhibitors can email me on julia@bridesupnorth.co.uk for a list of current dates and information – be quick – we are already filling fast for both Spring and Autumn 2013.
.
Now, season completed and slight celebratory lie in allowed (you noticed this post was an hour late, right?), it’s on with the show on these swirly silver pages! Today, I am thrilled to welcome back Brides Up North Featured Supplier Fable & Promise with another stunning (and so refreshingly different) bridal shoot to share with you today. If you saw their last styled shoot (click here) then you’ll know that you are in for a treat!

How much are you loving the pin curls and swallow motifs?

Charlotte of Fable & Promise says: I don’t know how much you know about Fable & Promise so I’ll start with a very brief overview. We are a (relatively) new bridal boutique in the heart of Lancashire. Our collections include some of the most sought after designers. We seek out the most exquisite and unusual bridal accessories, we can cater for bridesmaids and all your men folk and our services are second to none. Our roots are in bespoke bridal design with over 10 years of creative experience and we just love helping brides achieve the perfect look. We are serious magpies; we are drawn to sumptuous fabrics and lavish embellishments. We love delicate lace and glistening silks. We are suckers for a fantastic collection… but there is another side to us. A side where Legends are created…

Welcome to Legend by Fable & Promise
.
We are extremely proud to announce that we have launched our own alternative bridal collection.
Whether your dream day is steeped in mythology, reminiscent of a bygone era or you simply want to rock your day your own way, Fable & Promise are here to bring the Legend to life. With our feet firmly planted in the alternative community it’s only natural that we unleash our imagination and flex our creative fingers to bring you something different for your wedding day.

How has Legend evolved?
.
We have always had the more theatrical and dramatic string to our bow. Before Fable & Promise began we were known within the Gothic community as Bride & Gloom and have had brides travel from all over the UK to enlist Rachel’s services. With embarking on Fable & Promise our attention was focused solely on our brides and their needs… and on settling in to a new business. As we’ve grown and matured we have become more and more able to turn our attention to our own dreams of creating our own bridal collection. Legend by Fable & Promise is the culmination of all those ideas that have been germinating quietly behind the scenes and have finally be let out into the daylight.

We also have Brides Up North to thank…
.
It was at the Brides Up North Tweet Up North West back in June that we met Bobby and Suzanna from Celebration Village. Tracy and I were both there but found ourselves circulating and talking to different people. When I caught up with Tracy, her and Suzanna were plotting… seriously plotting. That first meeting led us to a series of visits, where a meeting of minds and creative forces came together and resulted in us having our own alternative department at Celebration Village; THE wedding department store in Manchester city centre.
.
We now have a small collection of one-off, never to be repeated designs alongside a capsule collection of timeless classics which can be made-to-measure to your requirements. The range is quite small at the moment but will be a proper department by the time of our official launch in January.
.
All our designs are original to Fable and Promise; a collection of designs that we have personally designed and created in their entirety. From concept and pattern development to hand embellishment… every part is hand made by us.

The Preview
.
Last weekend Celebration Village hosted their own wedding fair, where all the wedding professionals housed under CV’s roof came together to produce a dazzling array of choice and inspiration for those who are in the process of planning their special day. Legend by Fable & Promise was launched at this weekend event. It was with this in mind that we just knew we needed to do a photo shoot to celebrate and show you one snapshot of what we can do. It was so difficult to decide whether to bring you Rock Rebel, Gothic Romance or 20’s Decadence (all collections within the Legend range). But in the end it was Rachel’s imagination and current experiment with embroidery and poetry that decided we would go with a rockabilly themed wedding, the results of which you see here.
.
Sam is wearing Perry-Su, our Rockabilly inspired wedding dress in ivory duchess satin with Kingfisher blue pleated sash; swallow and poetic heart embroidery in shades of peacock, teamed up with kingfisher petticoats. Tracy also created the stunning bouquet with hearts and swallows in the centre of the flowers.
Emma is wearing Mary-Lou, our matching bridesmaid in Kingfisher blue with deep purple sash and is accompanied by her adorable daughter Indy.
.
We kept Jack quite relaxed, opting not to go for the formal morning suit. Instead we teamed up black waistcoat and shirt with one of our favourite hand silk screened ties of Dia de los Muertos sugar skulls.

The Team

Of course we couldn’t have created this shoot without the help of some of our favourite professionals: Zoe of ZT Photography who managed to squeeze us in to her burgeoning workload without much notice; Kerry Baker MUA who created gorgeous 50’s inspired looks with a Legend twist; Rachel Mason of D4re to be Different who styled and coloured our models hair and Barber B of Piranha Hair Studio Leeds who created awesome hair tattoos.
