I’ve something a little different, and a lot pretty to share with you this afternoon, courtesy of the team behind My Heart Wanders – who I am thrilled to be collaborating with as their blogger in residence – Cat Hepple Photography, Leafy Couture and We Love This Limited.
.
I’ve lost count of how many excited little flower girls I’ve met at our Brides Up North luxury wedding exhibitions, and how many tantrums I’ve seen when they’ve been asked to take off the tiara until the wedding day… so today’s post is for those little girls.
.
You are my favourites!
.
Let’s embrace our inner princesses, and remember what excitement really feels like, as we consider the perfect styling for the prettiest of children’s tables at your wedding.

Sarah of Leafy Couture says: For this shoot we wanted to create a really girly delicate style, to feel like you were invited to the most exclusive little tea party.

The colours we chose were delicate, sweet tones of white, lilac and pinks. The flowers included huge urns of gypsophila: clouds of delicate flowers that are really popular for weddings this year. We chose to keep the flowers on masse only using one type in each container to keep the look neat and elegant. We used silver julep cups and clear glass containers containing tulips, ranunculus and gypsophila. We mixed melamine plates in tones of pinks and blues. I adore using tones of colours rather than being too matchy and using one shade. Here it gives a youthful, clean feel with a hint of eclectic but still elegant.
.
Layers of textures were added with lace and ribbon on the tablecloth, tulle from the gorgeous tutu and sweets such as mini eggs, marshmallows and exquisite cupcakes.

We created two main scenes on the shoot the first being a mini tea party in delicate tones with beautiful details in the cakes. Pink milk in mini bottles are evocative of childhood, memories are so important when planning your wedding so little touches like this can be great. The next look was a cake table where we introduced a stunning cake, you could do a mini version of your wedding cake for the little ones or for a birthday party for a very special little lady. We added meringues to add to the light, fluffy feel.

The look would work for a children’s table at a wedding, to make them feel as special as the adults. It would be a perfect little set up for a little girl’s birthday too. We used special printed bunting, ribbon bows on the chairs and fabric initials to dress the chairs and tables. The chairs each had the name tags on them, I love the idea of adding them to the back of your chairs: your special place to sit.
.
The colours we chose were sweet and would translate work for a very grown up elegant affair too, subtle and delicate, evocative and dreamy.
