This morning we have a super fun pre-wedding shoot to share with you all that we absolutely love!
Husband and wife-to-be Tim and Natalie, chose a vintage railway in Cheshire as the backdrop to the shoot which they wanted to have a transport/travel feel to fit in with the theme they have planned for their upcoming wedding.
As well as providing the perfect opportunity for them to get comfortable in front of the camera, Tim and Natalie also used the shoot to secure some gorgeous and natural shots for their save the dates to send out to guests, getting them all excited for the big day to come!

We got engaged in London 2014, we were there for the Winter Wonderland with Christmas being our favourite time of year since our first holiday in New York together. Now not that Tim knew this, but I’d actually found a picture of a ring on his iPad early 2014. We had holidayed in Dubai in the May and Barbados in July. In anticipation of a proposal I had bought a whole new wardrobe for each and thought ‘this is it’ every time he asked me to go for a walk along the beach. By the December, the picture of the ring had disappeared and so had my hope of getting engaged. Little did I know Tim had invited my dad round for a curry and beers to ask if he could marry me.
Off we set of to London on the train, where in hindsight the signs were there, not leaving his holdall out of arms reach, insisting that he got the fizz we had packed out of holdall when I was closer, and constantly asking me when I was ready to go out for dinner. Then as I was putting on my necklace in the mirror, I hadn’t noticed he was hovering behind me until I turned around and he had disappeared down onto one knee. I was so surprised when I saw the ring, it wasn’t the one in the picture, it was even more gorgeous!

We have set the date for 31st March 2017 and picked Colshaw Hall in Knutsford, as our venue.

We first met on April 8th 2012, at the Nantwich Jazz Festival. We had never met before but soon realised that we had grown up no more than 500 yards apart.
For our first date we drove out about 40 minutes away from where we lived to a quiet, little pub. It was just us two the whole time, we stayed until we practically got kicked out.

I think we knew that each other was ‘the one’ when we were on holiday in New York eight months after we met. It was the first time we had spent more than a couple of days together. We wandered the streets of New York and never stopped laughing (and eating).

What I love most about Tim is his ability to see the best in everyone, his relaxed, positive attitude (that calms me down when I over react) and how unselfish he is. He’ll say he’s the lucky one, but I know it me. Oh and he’s the best cook in the world!

I love everything about Natalie! No matter where we are or what we are doing, I’m constantly smiling at her. She is such a loving person and will go above and beyond to make sure you’re happy. I cannot wait to call her my wife.

Our biggest wishes for married life are to love and to be loved and to have a happy and healthy life together.
We chose to have a pre-wedding shoot to build our confidence in front of the camera. Neither of us are on Facebook and aren’t really into the selfie thing, so we really weren’t sure how well we would photograph. We desperately wanted to avoid that ‘I’m feeling really awkward having my picture taken’ look and so our photographer Emma Hillier, suggested the shoot so we would feel more relaxed on the big day.
We can honestly say we really enjoyed the shoot. We got chance to get to know Emma and it has definitely made us feel so much more relaxed and excited about the wedding. We would both strongly recommend anyone getting married to do the same.

We are so pleased with the pictures, and as we are having a slight travel theme to our wedding we knew we wanted to incorporate this in the shoot and to use the pictures to make save the date postcards. If our wedding pictures come out anything like the pre-wedding shoot, we will be so so pleased.

Whilst planning the wedding I’ve found the Brides Up North blog to be so on trend! I love looking through the real weddings for ideas, and reading posts featuring local vendors. So many times I’ve picked up a wedding magazine and the majority of vendors are from further down south. Being a wedding hair stylist myself I know we have plenty of talent up north!
