With Christmas almost in sight (and already on an advent calendar chocolate high!), we’re bringing you this fabulous styled shoot. Captured at sumptuous Yorkshire venue Chilli Barn, this gorgeous collection of images showcases autumnal glamour with a rustic edge – perfect for brides seeking an outdoorsy feel to their big day that’s a little bit different!
Led by Charlie of Shindig! Event Styling, the shoot was a collaboration between the venue and a host of local suppliers, not only to create the most inspirational of bridal shoots, but also to create a dreamy set up for the venue’s very own wedding open day, which took place straight after the shoot all wrapped up!
As you would expect from an autumn wedding, there’s plenty of warm jewel tones to pore over – the bouquet and flower crown are two of our personal favourites. Throw in some fetching light-up letters, candles and props, as well as beautiful crockery and stationery – and you’ve got yourself one seriously pretty setting that’s got us craving a stylish barn and yurt combo!

: Shindig! Event Styling worked together with the Chilli Barn owners, Richard and Anne, alongside their in-house wedding planner Bex from Oakleaf Weddings & Events to create the styled shoot ahead of the venue’s open day.We wanted to showcase the Barn and a handful of selected suppliers by styling the venue for a wedding, to demonstrate how brides can use the different spaces to their full potential and how the suppliers can work seamlessly with the Chilli Barn too.
In terms of a theme, Anne was keen to use jewel tones through the venue, which worked well with the autumnal setting outside. All the suppliers worked together to ensure this theme ran throughout.
With the theme being ‘relaxed chic’, Chilli Barn worked extremely well, bringing together the rustic charm of the rural countryside with the stylish décor within. The selected suppliers also added their own touch of autumnal glamour, which brought the whole shoot together.
We set the main room up for a ceremony, with light blush tones. This was complemented by the muted tones of the venue and made the rich jewel tones of the bride’s bouquet and flower crown (supplied by The Petal Studio) really stand out.
We at Shindig supplied styling elements and event florals for the shoot, including the centrepiece of the ceremony room – a floral arbour at the end of the aisle, swathed in a soft blush fabric and accented with warm florals and dark foliage. Candlelight softened the room and the outside was brought indoors thanks to the use of logs and bark.
The yurt, supplied by Yorkshire Yurts, was set up for a wedding breakfast. We opted for a sweetheart top table which lent itself to the intimate wedding style we had created. The top table was framed by a large rustic light-up heart, supplied by Elizabeth James Events, and a sumptuous garland ran along the front, mirroring the rich tones used in the main room.
Wooden feasting tables were adorned with a simple blush runner topped with twinkling gold votives and dark foliage. Each place setting complemented the look with classic crockery and gold edged stationery from Gray Starling Designs. Other highlights included a stunning cake crafted by the talented Where the Ribbon Ends and also a unique open air photobooth from Viva la Booth.
Our bride wore a simple and classic beaded wedding gown from Debenhams. Her natural hairstyle was adorned with a vibrant flower crown, meanwhile her makeup was kept very natural too, with a hint of gold and coral to tie in with the theme of the venue. Both looks were created by makeup artist, Emma Harrison.
Both the shoot and the open day went ahead without a glitch. Stevie, our photographer, captured the theme perfectly and really showcased the venue and all the suppliers we collaborated with.
