Styled Shoot

Enchanted rose. An opulent styled shoot in Manchester

Alexis Forsyth

Today’s styled bridal shoot is all about the romantic florals.

Inspired by Rome’s iconic Rose Garden – the ambition by this North West supplier collective was to create something beautiful amidst the urban cityscape of Manchester’s centre. And the results are sublime.

The opulent interior of Manchester Hall fitted the brief flawlessly, giving all the suppliers the most perfect canvas for showcasing their styling ideas. We’re talking sweet avalanche roses and plenty of greenery, classic tablescapes and fabulous floral pillars.

As for the ‘bride’ – her oh so pretty gown and simple, pared back hairstyle and makeup accentuates this decadent dose of sophistication even further. The outcome is something chic, modern and highly desired by any bride-to-be. Photographer Zehra Jagani gives us the lowdown…

: The reason for the shoot was to re-launch and re-brand the florist’s image, now called Rani & Rose Floral Events (previously Floral Creations by Reena). The name change represents Rani’s Indian heritage and her love for modern day floral décor and styling.

The shoot was inspired by a trip to Rome’s Rose Garden; where beauty is found amongst an eternal city; hence why the shoot was located in Manchester city centre where the venue had an opulent interior.

Reena wanted to get a group of collectives that would bring the look together and fit into the theme, including stylist and assistant Rabbia from Asian Wedding Ideas.

Manchester Hall was the location for the shoot and it’s also a newly refurbished venue for weddings. Reena loved how this city venue had such an opulent and elegant interior that is more commonly found in country estates. It shows how a centrally located venue can be elegant, modern and fit within a wedding theme for a fresh and soft look.

The aim of the shoot and styling was to represent the brand with a contemporary look and an understated elegant style. This was complemented by ‘no fuss’ invites and stationery from Mani’s Creative, and a minimalist look with lots of greenery. Flowers that featured in the shoot included sweet avalanche roses with spray roses to give a soft natural look inspired by the Rome Rose Garden. We also had a stunning cake by Dinesh Patel.

The bridal dress, supplied by Glamour Bridal Bolton, was unstructured in style, to work with the loose and natural décor and flowers, not to mention beautiful jewellery from La Pearle.

Two hairstyles were showcased on the day by Yasmin S Rahuf. The first featured loose curls and was half up with flowers in the model’s hair. The second look was an up do, also with flowers in the hair. This gives the shoot more of a luxe look.

The shoot went quickly from the first moment we all unpacked and set up on the day!

The highlight was creating the floral pillars and being part of a shoot, as the last shoot I organised was four years ago. It was also lovely to meet up with other wedding suppliers too and talk about our personal experiences as well as having a great collective who all brought ideas on the day.
