Styled Shoot

Rewrite the stars. A celestial themed styled shoot in Cheshire

Alexis Forsyth

Stargazers and dreamers look right this way, as we have a celestial beauty lined up for you.

Set in Cheshire, this bridal shoot combines classic boho vibes with a subtle starry filled theme for the most perfect of tipi style weddings.

Capturing the couple’s love story from day to night, the shoot beautifully showcases the venue, Delamere Events in all its outdoorsy, whimsical glory, complete with enviable lakeside location. It’s out of this world.

Bringing together a group of suppliers from across the North West, there’s plenty of fabulous styling details and bridalwear inspo to covet. We’re talking lots of sparkle, crescent moons, plush foliage and a hand calligraphed leather jacket, not to mention two uber stylish lace gowns. There’s even a little nod to The Greatest Showman to look out for.

Inspiration & location

Rebecca says

: The gorgeous All About Me tipi’s were set up at the lakeside venue Delamere Events in Cheshire, for their open weekend. We were dressing the tipis to inspire couples planning their own day and created a subtle stars inspired wedding decor and feel throughout. We didn’t want to be too themed, just a hint with gorgeous rich colours.

Theme

We held a day into night time shoot to showcase the venue looking gorgeous in the daylight and transformed with lighting at night, with a subtle celestial theme in the accessories, stationery and styling, as this has been a popular trend that seems to be continuing into 2020, which is great as I love it!

All the suppliers are based in the North West and were brilliant to work with. The images are by the lovely Terri Pashley Photography and feature local couple Rob and Jem. Terri is so much fun to work with and her images are down to earth and authentic and really capture the couple’s chemistry.

Styling

The very talented Joseph Massie Flowers created floral displays that complemented the stars theme with lots of candlelight, sparkly table clothes, and a rich palette of pinks, deep hues of mauves and gold to represent the night sky. The bouquet was a little bit epic and looked striking against the setting – we didn’t want to go rustic, instead we wanted to go boho with a bit of glamour. We also had a stunning cake supplied by That Cakes the Biscuit and light up letters from The Word is Love not to mention beautiful outdoors lighting from Lightech.

The stationery was by the amazing Jenny from Ever After Paperie, her calligraphy is beautiful and her work is just so creative. I spoke to her about the ideas for the shoot and she just matched the brief perfectly and then some! For the table plan we hung calligraphed crescent moons amongst strands of foliage, and the table settings were constellations backlit with lights. The invites were stunning navy star strewn board with vellum paper, featuring hand calligraphy star related quotes, wax seals and whole moon menus, they looked incredible!

Attire

The bridal wear was provided by Shikoba Bride which I run with Fi from our studios in Cheshire. Jem wore two looks, Harper, a full lace boho gown with an open back detail for the daytime look. Later, she changed into a figure-hugging lace dress called Savannah, which was paired with a leather jacket to keep warm in the starlight. She looked amazing.

Our groom Rob was kitted out by Jo at Papa’s Tailoring with a gorgeous waistcoat, jacket and ties to create a smart relaxed look that matched the style of the shoot. Jo makes all her bespoke suits from her studio near Nantwich – they are absolutely stunning and look proper dapper.

The hand-painted leather jacket was also provided by Ever After Paperie. Jenny hand calligraphed the jacket with the stellar quote from The Greatest Showman “if we rewrite the stars” which fitted perfectly. Loved it!

Beauty

Jem’s look was created by hair and makeup artist Clare from Harry Jon, she is just so lovely to work with and I would recommend her to any bride to be. She styled Jem’s hair for the daytime look with a half up-do to show off the stunning earrings from Flourish by VP, which matched the celestial theme. Her makeup was soft, natural and glowing.

And for the nighttime look Jem’s hair was swept up into a messy up-do again, with star hair pins from Flourish, and a stunning constellation inspired crown of stars which were so gorgeous.

Results

The shoot went really well on the day and we were lucky with the weather which stayed pretty calm and clear for us, so we were able to shoot outdoors right into the evening and get the sparkler shots and also some of my favourite images under that stunning naked tipi all lit up with fairy lights under the night sky – the perfect end to our starry themed wedding.
