INSPIRATION
Brooke says
: Our idea for this shoot was to keep it intimate and elegant with soft wintery vibes. There are so many stunning spaces at Denton Hall but keeping it to two, the main reception and spiral staircase, meant we were able to focus our attention and include a lot of detail for the look and feel of this shoot. The two spaces share a similar colour palette of soft and subtle greeny blues paired with warming off-white, which really created the perfect backdrop for Elise Designs’ stunning bespoke gowns, Imaginarium Balloons’ statement decor, Leafy Couture’s beautiful blooms and Poppy Pickering’s stunning six tier cake.
STYLING
As soon as we found out that Chloe from Imaginarium Balloons was attending the Wedding Event, we were so excited. We follow her work on instagram and really love her creativity. We thought that it would be amazing if she could do something on our spiral staircase, and luckily she agreed! She took inspiration from the existing colour palette here at Denton and created a custom mix of soft, pale greens mixed with warm cream and metallic touches to perfectly compliment the staircase.
With our ideas for the shoot starting to take form, we got in touch with Poppy Pickering, who was also exhibiting, to see if she would like to be involved as well. Luckily for us, they’d just finished creating a beautiful new cake design called Bella, with soft ruffles, a floating tier and pale blush cascading flowers spiralling around the cake, it would match beautifully with the spiral staircase.
For the finishing touches, we knew we had to speak to our friends over at Leafy Couture. Sarah and her team have been one of our recommended suppliers for years and they always create exquisite floral arrangements, full of amazing colour blends and textures. We sent Sarah the ideas for the shoot and she created a stunning bridal bouquet and additional venue dressing for the hall.
ATTIRE
Our go-to girl for all things hair and makeup is always Chrys Chapman Hair & Makeup. At a recent catch up, Chrys told us all about Elise Designs and her simply stunning gowns. Elise creates each and every one of her dresses, from start to finish, and the beautiful elegance and timelessness of her work perfectly fits with the Denton Hall aesthetic.
BEAUTY
A Denton bride is a classic bride. She’s looking for timeless elegance, simplicity in design and beautiful high-end looks. Chrys Chapman is perfect for this kind of look.
Everything about this shoot was romantic and whimsical, which is exactly what Chrys Chapman wanted to capture with hair and makeup. Our lovely model, Harriet, has features so delicate that just a little colour goes quite a long way so, for me, less was definitely more.
Chrys kept the skin dewy and fresh, but not shiny and tried to capture Harriet’s natural English Rose complexion. We went a little more glam on the eyes, using hues of warm brown and rose gold. The word that was my inspiration for the entire look was ‘blushing’. I also really wanted to play up Harriet’s natural hair texture, which I was able to restyle for both up and down looks. The accessories from The Bobby Pin were exquisite styled in her hair to add more than just a touch of glamour. Pairing Chrys’s skills with Elsie Designs’ gowns and the beautiful handmade hair and jewellery pieces from The Bobby Pin, our model looked and felt like a million dollars.
RESULTS
The shoot went really well, and that’s testament to the talents of Kayleigh Ann Photography. Her calm organisation on the day, and clear vision for the shots she was taking, meant everything flowed beautifully.
Kayleigh Ann said it was a pleasure to capture the beauty that our group of suppliers created. She thought the whole shoot just oozed ‘princess chic’. The colours of the balloon installation, flowers, dress and make up all tied in wonderfully with the backdrop of Denton and she’s really happy with the photographs.
The highlight of the day for us was getting to work with such a talented group of northern wedding suppliers. We are so spoilt in Yorkshire, and the north in general, with just how much pure creative talent there is. A favourite part of ours was definitely the sequin star confetti shots, even if we did need to get the Dyson out to tidy it all up! Confetti clear-up is all in a day’s work for us, here at Denton. Our staircase confetti shot is definitely the most requested picture by all our couples. The result was so romantic and whimsical.
