Today we’re bringing you a simply beautiful styled shoot, with a pretty mint and pale pink palette, set at the gorgeous Larkspur Lodge.
Keeping things seasonal and modern but with a twist in the form of low key lighting to keep the tone super romantic and intimate, with a mix of fairy lights and candles creating the perfect atmosphere.
Passionate about working with some of the best local suppliers, Sam, from Sam Sparks Weddings, set up the shoot and pulled together an amazingly talented team. No detail has been overlooked and the overall finished photos are inspiring and aspirational. And that winter sun really adds that magical and elusive je ne sais quoi, setting the end result aglow.
Let’s hand over to Sam to find out more of the details and inspo behind the shoot…

INSPIRATION
Sam says
: Our aim was to collaborate with some amazing local suppliers and create a realistic yet romantic inspiration. We were after a romantic atmosphere with hints of spring coming through with the neon, mint and pink detailing through fabrics, florals and details. We wanted an overall romantic, springtime and modern vibe.LOCATION
Larkspur Lodge, an exclusive use wedding venue in Knutsford, Cheshire, fitted perfectly with the idea of having a private and romantic ceremony room, while also having beautiful grounds where we could get some couple shots and make the most of the winter sun. It was a lovely contrast against some of the darker shots in the ceremony and the really low key lighting that I was able to use with the neons. It really helped to tie everything together.
STYLING
We had a beautiful fairy light backdrop with a gypsophila sculpture, and then to contrast we had candles for the aisle so that it wasn’t too overwhelming, and to make focus of the beautiful flooring at Larkspur. The stationery and cake were simple with hints of colour used in the ribbon on the table plans, to try to tie it together. Neons were provided by Athena Event Hire.
ATTIRE
The dress was an amazing bohemian style, supplied by Stelfox Bride for the shoot. It tied in beautifully with the florals and the rustic feel of Larkspur, and really helped to create the boho, relaxed theme for the shoot. The suit was a sharp three piece from Whitfield & Ward, it helped to pull the theme together with its formal but modern element.
BEAUTY
Jen, of Jeneachus Bridal, chose a neutral colour palette of champagne, browns and pink to tie in with the fabrics. It created a classic bridal look that is effortlessly timeless. Hair was soft and romantic, in keeping with the effortless vibe by adding texture, Jen’s favourite hair trend at the moment. When choosing a textured style, getting your hairdresser to add some subtle high or lowlights can really help to bring the style to life.
RESULTS
The shoot went really well. Carrie Ann (styling), Lucy (stationary) and Dan (florist) all helped to pull the vision together. Dan worked really hard making the gypsophila metal structure for the ceremony and sweetheart table. I think the luckiest part of the day was honestly the weather; we had the most amazing winter sunset that allowed us to get the most beautiful portraits and couple images outside Larkspur!
