Styled Shoot

Summer Garden. A Styled Wedding Feast at Leadenham House

Sarah Symonds

Feast your eyes on this incredible… well, wedding feast! We’ve got a glorious styled shoot feature for you brides-to-be today, brought to you by talented wedding planner (and UNVEILED Network Member) Amy Lauren Weddings and her fellow industry suppliers.

Amy knows that throwing a good wedding is often about two main things; the happy couple and the food. The social aspect that a grazing table or sharing platter can offer adds to the appeal but we think it also creates such a beautiful impact and talking point, and it’s no wonder that so many couples are going for this option.

With such a warm, earthy palette and boho, rustic, garden-wedding style, it’s hard not to fall in love with these images and be inspired to get planning your own natural, pretty, al fresco day. It’s a veritable feast for the senses! (Okay, we’ll stop saying feast now). Over to Amy!

INSPIRATION

Amy says: ‘If music be the food of love, play on!’ And, if food can be the music of love, eat on!

While a wedding is first and foremost the celebration of a couple’s love and commitment to one another, successful enjoyment of the occasion requires the highest attention to innumerable details; one of the most important has to be the food, drink and of course cake!

With this in mind, we chose to hold a feast fit for a king, with the most moreish grazing platter full of seasonal fruits, breads, and cheeses. Social dining is the ‘in thing’ for modern couples and this grazing table is definitely an inspiring delight.

LOCATION

With so many couples deciding to host their wedding day celebrations outside we wanted to showcase the vast opportunities that couples can enjoy with an al fresco affair. The gardens at Leadenham House played host to the ideal dining experience. With mature trees, ponds and shrubberies, the gardens have many spaces and hideaways to explore diverse opportunities for photography and ideas for outdoor reception settings.

STYLING

The vast south facing lawns set the scene for a picnic style theme, with the gardens themselves full of colour and established greenery.

The head gardener at Leadenham House is also a professional florist, Flowery T, who volunteered to install and handcraft all the florals for the shoot. With her expertise and knowledge of the gardens we wanted to enhance the established beauty, paired with a medley of burnt orange, yellows, terracotta pots, dried flowers, and pampas grass being the chosen colour and floral choice.

The colours were then absorbed into the table design, with the chargers, candles, and gold cutlery adding to the overall finish. The rustic boho décor subtly enhanced the shoot vibe, with the bell tent taking centre stage, complimented by the floating cake and strategically placed signage and props.

ATTIRE

So many couples like to recreate a relaxed and joyful day, full of fun. Garden games are always a huge hit at weddings, with the adults taking a competitive role, generally concluding with a best man race! In this case, we witnessed a space hopper race between the bride and groom themselves (please note the bride won #girlpower!).

The dress, an Eliza & Ethan Multiway Dress was the perfect choice for the bride, Amy, to be involved in all the fun! More often than not, these dresses are the ideal dress for bridesmaids, with the option to personalise each one with a different tie.

We just love the Cavani suit, chosen and fully tailored by Fallen Hero, which complimented the bride and the overall shoot perfectly. Without the suit jacket, Lamo looked cool, relaxed, and smitten as he admired his gorgeous ‘wife’ Amy.

BEAUTY

Both Amy and Lamo are natural in front of the camera, making for a gorgeous couple. We wanted a natural, relaxed look with loose curls and a natural complexion. Amy styled her hair and applied her own makeup for the shoot.

RESULTS

The shoot was perfect and captured exactly what we aimed to achieve. All the suppliers involved, as well as Amy and Lamo, added comedy and thoughtful touches into the day; freshly made cake as an afternoon treat, with even a gin or two to settle the models’ nerves before shooting. All those involved showcased their passion, enthusiasm, and perfectionism, which was captured perfectly by Sarah and Richard of TTS Media.
