Very Berry. An Autumn Wedding Inspiration Shoot at The Orangery Ingestre

Rachel Hirst

Dreamy romance is the order of the day thanks to this uber gorgeous creative shoot brimming wedding inspiration loveliness that we just can’t get enough of!

Curated and captured by York-based photographer, Sophie Mort, the vision behind this exquisite collection of images is to showcase how couples can transform pared-back venues into their very own dream wedding setting with beautiful yet budget-friendly styling.

To bring her concept to life, Sophie called upon the skills of fellow talented female suppliers in the industry, and we’re sure you’ll all agree that the results are nothing short of stunning!

Centring around a rich berry colour palette, there are bold pops of crimson, pillar box red and pink complemented by soft blush, ivory and peachy tones. Though there aren’t an abundance of florals, the stunning arrangements that do feature in these opulent hues instantly up the luxury and demonstrate how less can be more.

The styling of the models is equally #weddinggoals, with the ‘groom’ looking dapper in a three-piece navy suit and the ‘bride’ adding to those elegant vibes in an enchanting Sottero ballgown.

Prepare for some serious swooning!

CONCEPT

Sophie says: My aim was to inspire couples as to how they can make any venue their own through effective styling and still be budget-friendly.

LOCATION

I’d had some enquiries from couples marrying at The Orangery Ingestre in Staffordshire and instantly fell in love with the venue online.

It’s a gorgeous glass orangery for hire for weddings that is a complete blank canvas and so was perfect for the shoot that I had in mind.

The venue is so peaceful, the light is a photographer’s dream, and I love that you can make it your own.

STYLING

We wanted to use berry and autumnal colours to welcome in August and show that bolder colours really can pop. In Bloom took care of the amazing florals which were the most beautiful tones and textures.

ATTIRE

I’ve worked with Sammy from Romantic Dreams Bridal Boutique located in Birmingham before, and she’s incredible. She always knows exactly what dress will suit the theme, the venue and the model, and she absolutely nailed it with the most beautiful Maggie Sottero design. Sammy even sewed the skirt/train herself onto model Kezia – it added such wow factor!

The rings were provided by Nottingham-based jeweller Temprell.

BEAUTY

The romance of the venue definitely influenced all of our choices, especially the hair and makeup. We went for a soft and romantic look with dreamy blush tones created by makeup artist Ruby Grace and hairstylist Georgina Harkins.

I guess you could say that we brought the South of France to Staffordshire!

RESULTS

Seeing Jen from In Bloom create this floral arch before our eyes was just incredible. The flowers completely and utterly transformed the venue, and we ended up moving the structures around to fit them in as many shots as possible. It provided the most stunning backdrop!

Finally, it was amazing to work with a group of such amazing women in business. They all massively inspire me, and I’m so proud of what we created!
