The Perfect Storm. A Wedding Inspiration Shoot at Pinchinthorpe Hall

Sarah Symonds

After a pandemic-related postponement, the talented team of suppliers behind this shoot have brought you a gorgeously fresh and relaxed style, all organised and orchestrated by Paylor Photography (and feat. the great British weather)!

Today we’re heading to the dreamy Pinchinthorpe Hall near Guisborough, to see how the newest owners have renovated the gorgeous Grade II listed country Manor House, which dates back to the 16th century. Well, they’ve certainly done it justice! And that’s before this team of industry pros have descended on the venue to create some wedding magic, serving you masses of wild, undone inspo!

This styled shoot truly showcases the skills of those involved, highlighting how easy it can be to have the perfect wedding day in your personal style without having to travel too far afield or break the bank – something we always love to keep in mind! With overall styling kept simple and a little bit of magic from our classically rainy weather, there are plenty of soft and subtle touches here to help the brides and grooms-to-be amongst you, as you kickstart your wedding planning journey! And we’re completely obsessed with those hats!

Like a lot of shoots lately, this one ended up being postponed due to the dreaded ‘C word’. It all centred around the venue; Pinchinthorpe Hall is a well known venue locally, and we wanted to work together to create an intimate wedding set up to showcase how beautiful it can be for a smaller wedding. We wanted to use all local suppliers, and really show how you could have a beautiful intimate wedding without having to venture far and wide to find amazing people for your suppliers.

Pinchinthorpe Hall has had a rocky history, being passed through a lot of different owners, but it’s one we’ve always had our eye on. We drive past it at least once a week, so when it reopened, we knew we had to work with Simon to create something amazing! We love how they’ve redecorated and renovated the place. It’s so clean and classic, and is perfect for a small country wedding. Plus, the view of the local beauty spot, Roseberry Topping from the ceremony room is just perfect.

Everything was kept super simple. Pinchinthorpe supplied all the chairs and tableware etc, and Emma from Rosemary Blooms kept the floral arrangements clean, with cut glass bud vases and amazing home grown flowers. We opted not to have a cake but instead have super cute monogrammed biscuits made by Gabriella Grace Cakes, which worked perfectly as tasty favours.

We’ve loved Kate Fearnley Gowns since forever! She has a wonderful way of creating ethereal boho gowns. She brought a selection of her new collection which is filled with feathers, tassels and gorgeous neutral tones. They matched perfectly with the bridal fedora from Luna & Wild that our bride model Betti wore, and she really fit with the boho vibes.

Our suit was from Dandy Threads where Nick always understands the assignment, and gave us a stunning brown suit with two waistcoat options. Afnan looked super dapper all day!

We had no hair and makeup artist due to restrictions. Betti actually did her own hair and she wore no makeup for the shoot – and still looked stunning!

We’d had a beautifully sunny week leading up to the shoot but then on the chosen day, the heavens opened! We were gutted because a big part of the shoot was due to take place outside. Luckily, by the time our models were dressed and our ceremony was staged, it had just about stopped raining.

Betti and Afnan were absolute troopers and joined us in the last of the rain to capture some awesome photos of them dancing in it as the sun finally made an appearance. The whole shoot was so lovely, just hanging out with other wedding suppliers, chatting shop and checking in during this super busy year. Betti and Afnan are also amazing humans, they were so amazing to photograph, and we had an absolute blast together!

We’d also like you to know that our books are still open for 2022, and we’d love to head back to Pinchinthorpe for a real wedding!
