Be Mine. A Loved Up Engagement Inspiration Shoot at Rise Hall

Sarah Symonds

Stunning Grade II beauty, Rise Hall is the perfect setting for today’s contrasting pretty-in-pink, romantic styled shoot, with more than a touch of a sugar coated, kitschy Valentine’s theme to delight your imagination!

Megan Wilkinson and Lucy Wright from BelleBijoux and their team of super sweet local suppliers have truly squeezed every drop of inspo into this cute engagement party style shoot.

Balloons galore, a sprinkling of rose petals, typography-based signage and banners, plus pops of pinks and reds in all kinds of fun textures (don’t miss the bows!) are all perfectly juxtaposed with Rise Hall’s own blend of authentic Yorkshire heritage chic and modern luxury.

Megan & Lucy said: Rise Hall approached Belle Bijoux to do something Valentines-inspired and then we saw Autumn Rose’s ‘bow’ inspired stationery which gave us the pure inspiration we needed to run with a concept inspired by LOVE.

We really wanted to give modern and luxury party vibes, so chose to go with an engagement style set up. We wanted it to be pretty and cool yet still ooze class and sophistication, to honour the beautiful stately surroundings at Rise Hall.

LOCATION

Rise Hall is a gorgeous Grade II stately country house venue offering exclusivity in the East Riding of Yorkshire, set in 30 private acres of peace.

The Hall has a plethora of impressive and stylish spaces, including an imposing staircase hall and the adjacent Gallery, all bathed in natural daylight, so you really have a photographer’s dream space whatever the weather.

STYLING

We chose deep reds, burgundy, pink and ivory, coupled with textures – we’re known for our textured setups! We also enjoyed embracing the ‘bow era’ that is sweeping our nation at the moment.

Flourishing Florals by Ivy lane Florist, filled with Naomi, menta and secret garden roses, rice flower and cute carnations, all in keeping with our palette’s tones. Amy at Beverley Events Company places together a balloon masterpiece that gave the already impactful staircase at Rise Hall that wow factor. Stood next to this, in pride of place, was a floral standing welcome sign in dusty pink tones, created by signage queens Oh Pretty Rae. We also had fringed banners by the Autumn Rose Paper Co that gave an equally eye catching display. Designed to allow party guests something of a focal point to get snaps next to and work to introduce them to the event.

Ashleigh at Scrumb Cakes baked us two stunning iced tiered cakes, which were coupled with a dramatic bow and sat amongst florals and draping, nestled in next to the stairs making this such a beautiful area.

ATTIRE

The modern mini dress was perfect as a party look for any future bride, courtesy of Sophie at Elizabeth Lucas, and it complemented the burgundy luxe suit pulled by Rebecca at Fallen Hero. This was all truly set off by some delicious, sparkling, diamond jewellery by Hugh Rice Jewellers themselves.

BEAUTY

Hair specialist Hair by Abby and makeup extraordinaire Rachel Helen had a beautiful muse to work with, and they used their expertise to craft Hollywood waved hair and stunning, subtle glamorous makeup. The glow was insane.

Jade Breanne Bridal, conjured up a touch of magic with a handmade bow tie hair clip, complete with beautiful stitched personalised text.

RESULTS

Our overall styling really reflected all of our talented beautiful work in the best light, working as the perfect showcase. Using our initial mood board as the starting point, everyone came together, following the look, with us curating, leading, and using our hire trove of items, moving florals, adding swagging and dramatic draping here and there. We polished our candleware, crockery and glassware, tied sumptuous bows to florals, and we even made bow chains, all in tulles and satins. We just loved everything about this concept.

All the amazing suppliers have literally created Valentines magic. Vicky Benge and Sarah Beth got it so right with the images. It was all more than we could have imagined. We’re truly blessed in our patch of Yorkshire to be surrounded by such talent. We’re grateful to all involved for being onboard, embracing our concept and giving everyone Valentines inspired content full of pure LOVE!
