Howdy everyone! Are you having a lovely Sunday?
.
It’s been an absolutely manic week here at Brides Up North HQ, as it seems that now Christmas is out of the way everyone (from you lovely Brides to Be to seemingly the whole of the Northern Wedding Industry) is thinking weddings.
.
Feeling panicked? Glad it’s not just me then!
.
As I ride a tidal wave of emails into the New Year (keep ‘em coming!), I think it’s time for a bit of a rejig and Spring clean here at wedding blog towers. Its out with the old and in with the new.

First up, it’s time for a tidy. A few features that I think are past their prime are off to the recycling bin. So, there’ll be no more Super Sunday round ups (I have too much other gorgeousness to share to be going back over old ground) and the popular Friday Fabulous posts will be staying put, but only when I have something truly fabulous to share rather than every week.
.
So what can you expect in 2012? More real weddings, more fashion features, more inspirational bridal shoots, more dates for your diary, more Northern talent. Basically, more of what you like. The good stuff.
.
I love YOUR stories
.
This year, I want to hear more from YOU – our real brides, bridesmaids, grooms, newly weds, wedding industry suppliers and secret wedding lovers. I want to hear your real wedding stories, proposal tales, honeymoon plans, how you met, what you want from the future and what made your wedding special – the works. We’ll be delving deeper into each featured couple’s love story and nosing in on their plans. I want to know it all.
.
Lights, camera, action
.
I’ve dabbled with a few vlogs this year, but watch out for far more video blogs in 2012. Everything from real bride interviews, backstage action at bridal shoots and how-to demos. 2012 is the year that Brides Up North goes televisual.
.
Guest Stars
.
Diversity rocks (and I’m not talking about the dance troop). I’m on the look out for some more fabulous guest bloggers to add to the ranks of Brides Up North writers in 2012. If you know weddings, have a way with words and think that you could bring something new to the discussion, contact julia@bridesupnorth.co.uk and lets chat!

All In One
.
There’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes right now with the aim of making the Brides Up North Featured Supplier Directory even more relevant to your needs, full of useful links and easier to navigate. Pretty soon, the Directory will be an even better tool to assist with your planning process. Watch this space.

New Regulars
.
I’m excited to launch some new regular features for 2012. Amongst a few ideas that I’m toying with at present, this year will debut:
.
The Saturday Sessions - a personal series charting my journey through widely unchartered waters as a professional wedding blogger as the Brides Up North brand steams onwards.
.
Wedding SOS – my inbox is constantly pinging with real life planning dilemmas from readers. In this regular series, I plan to give my two cents (and garner some advice from awesome wedding industry experts) on some of the more regular quandaries.
.
The Real Bride Chronicles – we’ll be piggy backing with some real brides during their journey from rock to wedding frock. I’m so excited.
.
There might just be a few more (fabulous) surprises to watch out for too. All will be revealed shortly.
.
See you on the other side!
