Today is not your average Wednesday people! Ohhh no!
.
Today, my very favourite telly programme of all time returns to the small screen (I’ll be somewhat busy for the next few Wednesday evenings). Yes, it’s only The Apprentice! And it’s back!
.
I’d already clocked that one of this year’s candidates – Laura Hogg – ran a Glasgow bridal boutique and was looking forward to seeing what this lady would bring to Lord Sugar’s boardroom table, so when Lorna of Focus Wedding Photography got in touch to ask whether Laura’s styled bridal shoot could be featured on her favourite wedding blog, I was more than a little excited.
.
So, in this wedding blog exclusive, here’s what Laura was getting up to before meeting Lord Sugar – and let’s see how she gets on in the boardroom. I hope it’s not a week one exit with the usual mumbled “thank-you-for-the-opportunity”! Being a feisty Glaswegian? I doubt it!

I like this girl already. Good luck Laura! Brides Up North is rooting for you!

Let’s hear from Lorna: This was a collaboration shoot with a lovely group of wedding suppliers at Mansion House in Glasgow, a gorgeous venue with themed rooms that we were able to use to style the three shoots that we carried out on the day.

The shoot features dresses from Laura Reece Bridal in Glasgow, which is run by Laura Hogg, a candidate in Series Eight of The Apprentice, starting tonight on BBC1 at 9pm. Laura also models in the shoot. She has always been incredibly ambitious and determined so when the final sixteen candidates were announced for series 8 of The Apprentice, it was not a surprise to see Laura in the line up.
.
Our shoot started in the Kanaloa room with Gillian, it is a tiki themed beach hut bar, which is designed to be an oriental oasis. We used this room as our destination bride backdrop and had used colourful accessories, big wicker chairs and gorgeous cocktail glasses

Laura’s friends from the shoot say she thought she would be an ideal business partner for Lord Sugar as she has the drive, work ethic and guts needed to succeed, coupled with a fantastic business idea which is rumoured to be an industry first.
.
Laura is said to be ecstatic to have this once in a life time opportunity. The single mum’s main motivation is her four year old son (who her business is named after) and being able to provide a privileged lifestyle for him.

Groovy Wonderland was our next venue for the shoot and this features Laura modelling a gorgeous short red bridesmaid dress and roller boots. We had a lot of fun accessorising this shoot and using the 70’s style dance floor. Our favourite images from this shoot are those where Laura is sitting on the bar, the reflective surfaces within the bar were just gorgeous.

Our last shoot took place in Jewel, full of gorgeous fabrics, beautiful chandeliers and wood panelling, providing a very stylish and sophisticated backdrop to our images. Laura, Gillian and Natalie modelled dresses from Laura Reece Bridal and accessories from the West End Wedding Boutique. The theme for this part of the day was high glamour and the make up and hair suited the dramatic theme.
