The week’s engagement fever continues this afternoon on the wedding blog with the second part of today’s beautiful Paris romance by Cat Hepple Photography. Click here to see part one, very different but just as pretty!

Shall we hear from the bride to be herself? It appears that travel – both the exotic and the testing type – has played a huge part in this gorgeous couple’s relationship, so it seems fitting that the path eventually lead to the City of Love! Enjoy.

Alice says: On holiday in Egypt, we went for a lovely meal and then Paul asked if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. He asked me to marry him by the sea at midnight, but was so nervous he forgot to go down on one knee! We are getting married at Goldsborough Hall at the end of this month.

We met when we were both travelling in 2004, on an island called Tioman in Malaysia. We were stranded on the island because of bad weather. It took for us to meet again a few months later in Australia to get together though.

We enjoyed a first date sitting outside a pizza takeaway in Cairns in Australia! When we met up back in England and spent five years commuting backwards and forwards from Leeds and London every weekend to see each other, we knew we could withstand anything!

Our silly sense of humour, and shared hopes and goals in life is what we love most about each other… and our biggest wish for married life is to keep laughing and having fun!

We chose to have an engagement shoot because we wanted to make sure that we were comfortable and knew what a photo shoot entailed before the big day, and when Cat suggested Paris I was immediately planning and getting excited! We had seen Cat’s previous shoots but never thought the pictures could be so impressive!

We were so nervous before the shoot and thought there was no way we were going to feel comfortable, however within half an hour we were doing things we never thought we would – especially in front of Parisian Monday morning commuters and crowds of tourists. It helped that Cat read exactly what we were comfortable with and what looks we had in mind (also the many emails and mood boards we exchanged in the weeks running up to the shoot helped). Victoria Farr was fantastic on my hair and make up.

Its nice to have a website dedicated to the North, so people realise that there’s more to England than London, and we will definitely be back to share our Real Wedding photographs with Brides Up North!
