In these last days of November (and now officially on Brides Up North Christmas Party countdown!) I feel like the hours, days and weeks are just racing towards the new year. Perhaps it’s that we are so busy here at Brides Up North HQ planning and taking exhibitor bookings for our first six (six!) big bridal events of Spring 2013, or maybe it’s this growing baby bump that’s making it harder for me to sit at the computer for long periods of time – but time seems to be flying!

With the racing clock in mind, it’s nice to be mindful for a minute or two and take a look back over the gorgeous Autumn that we have just enjoyed. Mine was chockablock with our inspirational wedding shows at some really beautiful venues, house hunting, meetings for brand growth in 2013, antenatal sessions, Christmas party planning, just a little bit of writing (read: masses of writing) and the odd really lovely wedding to attend in person.

We chose Autumn for our own wedding day back in 2010, and if you were lucky enough to get married this season then I hope you enjoyed crisp blue skies, golden leaves and that magical fresh-start feeling that I think Autumn brings on your big day.

This morning, we join friend of the wedding blog, Rebecca of Pretty Little Trio for a simple styled shoot capturing the essence of my favourite season, with images by Adam Capper Photography.

Rebecca says: Since it was a totally glorious Autumn this year, we wanted to capture it and pulled together an idea of a really simply styled shoot at the beautifully restored Victorian Bandstand in Queens Park, Crewe. We had a few dog walkers stop and stare and congratulate the ‘bride’ (we didn’t have the heart to say). Taking the bandstand as our centrepiece and the season as an influence for our colour theme, we also had in mind a reused, reloved and recycled theme.

The vintage china, books and props by Pretty Little Trio are all second hand and so reused, the bandstand has recently been restored, the dress is from Sarah’s Wedding Exchange and has beautiful designer dresses ready to be reloved, the pom poms by Sue Lacey are from recycled paper and the button bouquet from Living Colour has vintage book pages within it. The images taken by Adam Capper have been given a proper old feel by taking original vintage photographs and overlaying their patina onto the images he took on the day, think it makes Naomi look a little ethereal.
