Wednesday Wedding Inspiration – Forever Green

Julia Smith

.

I’ll be honest with you. I’m probably not even awake yet.

.

I prepared this feature in advance as I’ll most likely still be sleeping off the effects of the Brides Up North Christmas Party at the gorgeous Thorp Perrow, North Yorkshire.  I had a brilliant night full of wine, sparkle and song prepared for our lovely guests and a full party report will be coming up shortly on these swirly silver pages once I’ve had a full English breakfast and taken some time to reflect on the fun and frivolities that actually went down!

.

In the meantime, I would never leave these pages bare!  So, to up the Brides Up North gorgeous quota this morning (as I won’t be contributing much by way of gorgeousness) I’ll hand you over to my regular guest blogger Katy of What Katy Did Next who is at the ready with another of her beautiful wedding inspiration boards.

Katy says:  A lovely bit of festive evergreen colouring for you this week with a golden art deco twist. Green isn’t the most popular wedding colour but is becoming an increasingly trendy choice and I love it!

.
The Jenny Packham gown is not a new design but its one of the classic gowns that oozes vintage elegance. If you’re wanting to go full on green the gown is also available in a gorgeous emerald shade! The detailed embellishment does all the talking and needs little if any accessorizing. I’ve teamed it with some simply amazing bow heels which will create a lovely flash of green as you shimmy down the aisle.

.
For that beautiful art deco vintage loveliness mix the green shades with glittering gold and jet black – displayed beautifully in the Beau Buttons bouquet! Go dramatic with fabulous jade eye shadow and pale lips or stick to the vintage eyeliner flicks and scarlet lips.

.
Take the time to check the link connected to the green bridesmaids dresses – the bride had all her maids in a different green shade which blended so beautifully! If the dress style isn’t your cup of tea try using the same colour palette with a different shape. Take the idea to a local dress maker – I’m sure they’ll be full of fabulous ideas!

.

.

Remember: the plan is to share a new inspiration board in this time slot every other week, either compiled by myself, regular guest blogger Katy or YOU: get in touch with your own ideas and inspiration boards! We’ll be discussing our inspirations behind the images too so it’s simply going to be a whole load of lovely.

.

If you are a little less arty but in need of inspiration and still want to play along, we will also be taking requests for colour schemes and themes and making bespoke boards for my readers. Please contact me to suggest a theme or colour scheme.
