This afternoon we are in Yorkshire with a collective of suppliers who are taking a step back from the traditional bridal shoot and giving the finished result a moodier edge. The result – although a world away from the recognised image of a smiley, happy bride – a set of beautiful, arty and ethereal images showcasing stunning gowns, gorgeous bridal hair and beauty looks and a beautiful venue. What do you think ladies? Are you ready to step into the light?
.
Sarah says: I first got involved in the shoot when Kimberley from The Dolly Hair Co and Jenni from Make Up by Jenni got in touch with me asking if I’d like to join forces with them. They had an idea of ‘From Darkness Comes Light’ as a transition from Winter to Spring.

The Dolly Hair Co started unique bridal styling after leaving salon management when she realised something was lacking in the service brides received when having their hair done in a salon – the personal touch. Kimberley now offers a unique and special service to all brides and wedding party members. Make Up by Jenni specialises in bridal make up and Jenni prides herself on providing a complete service to brides to be, including skincare advice on the run up to the wedding.

I’m a family and wedding photographer and I love every second of my job – it’s such an honour to be asked to be part of the very moments of peoples’ lives that they will remember forever. The fact that I can actually show them those moments in my photography is just amazing. This photo shoot was a great way to meet new people (and make some friends along the way) and let out my darker side!

Clumber Park, a hugely popular National Trust location, needed new promotional photographs for their newly refurbished wedding rooms so we combined our shoot with their needs and from this developed a strong bond between us all.

We picked three models whose looks fitted the image we were looking for, Roks-Ann Roschana, Gemma Mahoney and Misty Rowe – all were amazing on the day braving the cold, wind and rain.

Other suppliers that were happy to get involved in the shoot were: Jane at Wedding Wishes in Worksop who supplied us with seven of the most beautiful wedding dresses in a gorgeous vintage style, Jean at Sheer Gold Wedding Cars who came along with a stunning Rolls Royce and Rebecca at Vintage Fascinators who provided us with the most amazing brooch bouquets.

The day was wet, wild and dark – perfectly fitting to our theme and to the look we wanted to create with combined styling and photography. We had a great day and we were well looked after by the team at Clumber Park.

Following on from the success of the shoot, we are continuing in our respective businesses together as a specialised bridal styling team and photographer. We will unite as one, launching a new and very exciting business, Lime Venue Marketing. As Lime Venue Marketing, we offer our combined services to local and national venues wishing to upscale and rebrand their marketing photography.
