After the excitement of my big announcement this morning (miss it? click here to catch up) we’re staying in the North West for the whole day on the wedding blog, and this afternoon we join a bevy of Cheshire lovelies as they collaborate on this warming styled bridal shoot at Styal Lodge.

To introduce the shoot, Laura of Laurel Weddings says: We decided that one of my favourite venues; Styal Lodge in Cheshire, with its warn interior tones, contrasting against the chilly day, would be ideal to give everyone involved the opportunity to show their creativity and bring their own individual style to the shoot. With such a blank canvas to work with and in consultation with my good friend Francesca from Cheshire Cat Cake Company, we agreed that metallic silver and gold would work really well.
We were fortunate to have three beautiful models, each with their individual look, showcasing a variety of products and styles within the overall theme. Despite the best efforts of the Cheshire weather, we managed to fit in a few shots in the wintery gardens, with the balance taken in the warmth of the barn itself.
Our photographer for the shoot Lucy Greenhill of Lucy Greenhill Photography, did a fantastic job and using her photographer’s eye, pulled together an cohesive collection of images.
The first ‘look’ had a natural romantic feel of creams and golden hues, accessorised with lace and pearls. The second used crystal, diamanté and stark white, an almost icy feel. We were spoilt for choice with the gorgeous gowns, veils and accessories supplied by Nicole from Pearl Bridal Boutique, who collaborated with Jennie Freedland’s hair and make-up skills, to style each ‘bride’.
When selecting flowers, I created a variety of fresh and silk bouquets and table arrangements mixing colours and texture to create interest. For the warm tones, I used various shades of lemon roses mixed with natural foliage, and another surrounded with handcrafted wire detail . Complementing this was a natural centre piece of beautiful blossom branches with cascades of ivy . This was teamed with the ivory and gold tiered wedding cake, matching cupcakes and scrummy macaroons, all supplied by Cheshire Cat Cake Company.
For the cool silver theme, the simplicity of a hand tied bouquet of roses, lissianthus and eucalyptus and another of ivory roses entwined within a silver wired frame, peppered with diamanté and pearls. Completing the look, a twisted stem candelabra with hydrangea, roses and scented eucalyptus , finished with hanging lanterns and crystals. A further tiered wedding cake of white, silver gilt and edible feather detail wrapped up the wintery feel.
The shoot also afforded us the opportunity to showcase Laurel Weddings new collaboration with Cheshire Cat Cake Company. Francesca and I are now able to offer luxury, colour coordinated dessert tables, to include wedding cake, a selection of quality sweets and assorted hand made tasty treats, all displayed beautiful glassware and containers.
It was a fantastic day and great to work with so many talented people. Not only do we have lots of amazing images to share, but it was a pleasure to have Charlene from Love Gets Sweeter wedding films, one of the North West’s premier videographers, to capture some ‘behind the scene’ footage, which gives a real insight into the hard work and attention to detail given by our carefully chosen suppliers who will all ensure your day goes beautifully.
