Welcome to the weekend Brides Up North! What are your plans? A few jars of mulled wine with your mates, a spot of Christmas shopping or maybe, just maybe, this is the weekend that you get wed?! Eep! If you are saying I do – or whatever it is that you are up to – I hope you have the most fabulous one.

I’m up to my eyeballs in the tinsel this weekend, as I’ve spent the past month planning our Brides Up North Christmas Party and this last week has seen that activity whipped up into a full on Christmas frenzy, as I prepare – along with the wonderful team at CWC Malings – to host a very special sparkly soiree showcasing a very special new wedding venue to my industry nearest and dearest and my lovely readers this coming Tuesday evening.

The amazing (and newly open for weddings – wahoo!) North Yorkshire private stately home and wedding venue that is The House at Thorp Perrow Arboretum is to die for at the very best of times, but add a team of amazing experts filling the place with blooms (hello Twisted Willow Floristry, I love you!), song (some Christmas Swing and some Vintage Dj-ing – this you have to hear!), delicious food and drink, games and some added Christmas glitter and it’s going to be Very Merry indeed!

And watch out for a very special announcement being made on the evening too…

The guest list has been full for weeks (48 hours after we opened it in fact!) but due to popular demand and the fact that I hate hearing sad stories of full up guest lists at Christmas time, this weekend I have been able to open up a few more places! Let’s hear a WHOOP WHOOP!

So, come and make merry to celebrate the season – wedding industry colleagues and Brides Up North readers all very welcome. Let’s be clear: this isn’t a wedding exhibition or stuffy open event, it’s simply the chance to let your hair down, have a nosy, put on the glitz and mix and mingle with the regions’ finest! It’s going to be an evening of merriment, so bribe a designated driver with the Quality Street first and watch out for some special surprises too!

You have to see this place for yourselves – trust me – it’s well worth the trip! If you want to stay over (advisable: I’ve seen the drinks order!), I have some accommodation recommendations at the ready too, just get in touch.
